1. Rebirth of a Business
Established in the 1990s on Lemon Street in Lancaster to showcase independent films and art, Zoetropolis Art House has had three different locations. Just recently it moved to Water Street in Lancaster city to grow the business in the heart of the arts district downtown. As of now, only the theater is open, but come late summer/early fall, the restaurant and distillery will be open. The distillery will be dependent on the restaurant and when it is open, there will be tours and tastings open to the public. Zoetropolis plans to expand their programming to include lots of live music as well.

2. Restoring a Legacy
Javateas recently opened up a new location at the renovated Donecker’s building in Ephrata. This location will have a different menu and different hours of business from the other location but will still serve coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. There is enough seating for 50 people, and the space is available for private events such as birthdays and showers. Starting this summer there will be summer enrichment classes for kids ages three to 13, and pricing will range from $10 to $25. Registration can be done at the café or online to secure a spot.

3. Reaching the Peak
Peak Indoor Cycling, Lancaster County’s first indoor cycling studio, opened this spring. Owners Lauren and Mark Shartle wanted to change the indoor cycling culture in their hometown. The studio features Real Ryder bikes, the only indoor bike to engage your core and upper body. “Technology advances in fitness centers have been significant, but for some odd reason indoor cycling bikes and studios have been left out,” states Lauren. Stay up to date with information about class schedules, themed rides, and booking private rides for your business on the website.
