Smoothie bowls are quickly becoming the food art sensation on social media platforms like Instagram. Not only are they delicious and beautiful, but they are also packed with rich nutrients and are so much fun and easy to make. Basically, a smoothie bowl is a thick smoothie topped with fresh fruit, nuts and seeds. You can add any toppings you like, which is the fun part of creating them. Some of the healthy toppings and ingredients I enjoy adding include chia and hemp seeds and flax meal, which are all rich sources of protein, vitamins, antioxidants and fiber. They also all contain Omega-3 fatty acid, which is great for mental cognition and clarity. Smoothie bowls are a great, healthy and low-sugar option for breakfast, a snack or even dessert.
If you are on Instagram and would like some inspiration, search #smoothiebowl and you will see what an art form they have become worldwide.
