Novara is a primary care family practice unlike any other.
“We avoid the typical experiences people have with health care,” says Christopher Hager, MD. “Our care focuses on conversations. Life usually comes down to two or three key things for each person, so our initial question is, ‘What matters in your life?’”
Novara’s clients say they appreciate being treated like people rather than charts.
“There is a volume problem in health care today. By knowing our clients, really taking the time to listen to them, we can create strategic, customized health plans for their lives,” says Hager.
Hager describes Rebekah Christens, RN, as a “coach” for Novara’s clients; when health goals are set, she follows up, tracking and guiding clients’ progress.
Novara, founded in 2016, uses a concierge medicine approach; a monthly fee provides unlimited access to care.
Dr. Hager says it’s been rewarding to reset the health care model. “If you ask most doctors, we went into medicine to heal people as our motive. Part of that is the joy we get from connecting as humans and helping people find more fulfilling lives.”
