Unicorn in Captivity Poetry Reading
Fort Hunter Park North Front Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17110
Join Marian Dornell, a lifelong resident of Harrisburg, as she reads selections from her newly published collection of poetry "Unicorn in Captivity." Employing the voices of various narrators, this collection tells the story of the legacy of slavery and what each of us must do to be free to talk about our relationship to that legacy. One voice is based on the disappearance of Sal Craig, a slave at Fort Hunter whose family is buried in the African-American cemetery on land once owned by the McAllisters.
