Together, For the Land: Protecting Our Farms & Our Future

Online and throughout Lancaster County Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Lancaster Farmland Trust (LFT) is pleased to announce our Together, For the Land virtual event, taking place on October 21st from 7-8 pm. Since we can't gather in person this year, LFT is holding our first-ever virtual celebration to recognize our farmers and our organization's accomplishments in the past year.
Lancaster County leads the nation in farmland preservation – with more than 115,000 acres of farmland permanently protected. We're so proud of what we've accomplished and grateful to a community that has committed themselves to preserving Lancaster County's rich, productive farmland and unique agricultural heritage. We invite our community to join us as we celebrate these achievements on October 21st.
As you may know, Lancaster Farmland Trust has held an Annual Dinner and Silent Auction in the fall for two decades. This seated dinner included a program that honored the year's newly preserved farms and featured "Acres for Auction," an opportunity for guests to bid on acres and preserve a farm on our waiting list during that very evening. Hundreds of donors, community members, and business supporters like you celebrated with us. This year – in light of current health concerns - we will not be asking you to celebrate with us in-person.
Instead, we are excited to present our Together, For the Land virtual event scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st, 2020, from 7-8 pm and sponsored by The Wenger Group. This new online event will be a celebration of agriculture, farmland preservation, and land stewardship, all while helping Lancaster Farmland Trust raise funds necessary to preserve our land. The best part – anyone can attend from the comfort of their own home or office.
To register to participate in our raffle, silent auction, and Acres for Auction, you can visit www.lancasterfarmlandtrust.org/together and click on the "Registration" tab left-hand side of the page. This year's event is complimentary – there is no charge for attending. So, feel free to invite your friends and family! The hour-long event on October 21st will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube, and available directly on our event website – www.lancasterfarmlandtrust.org/together.
If you can't attend the event but would still like to contribute to our mission, we encourage you to visit www.lancasterfarmlandtrust.org/together to make a donation or participate in the raffle and silent auction. The raffle and silent auction will open on October 17th for bidding and feature arts, crafts, and experiences from our local Lancaster community.
