Spring Hike Series – Theodore Parker
to
Theodore A. Parker Natural Area 124 Wesley Road, Quarryville, Pennsylvania 17566
Naturalist Ann Strauss will lead a series of four spring hikes celebrating the parks of Lancaster County. On this fourth and final hike, we will visit the Theodore Parker Natural Area. From the lower parking lot, the trail follows Stewart Run, a pristine little creek that flows through the bottom of a gorge making up this treasure of a park. Stewart Run is home to Brook and Brown Trout as well as other organisms that indicate healthy water. The hike will be 1 to 1-1/2 miles long. The trail is steep, rocky, and challenging in places so please be prepared for a moderate to difficult hike. Anyone who wishes to wet their feet in the creek must wear closed-toe shoes for the water. Register online or call (717) 295-2055 to register and prepay by noon on Friday, May 18. $3.00 per person. Ages 8 and up
