Join us at the historic Capitol Theater for a presentation of the 2022 Oscar nominees for Best Short Feature - Documentary. For the 17th consecutive year, Shorts HD and Magnolia Pictures present the Oscar-nominated Short Films, opening on February 25, with screenings at the Appell Center on February 26-27. With all three short film categories offered – Animated, Live Action and Documentary – this is your annual chance to predict the winners (and have the edge in your Oscar pool)! A perennial hit with audiences around the country and the world, don’t miss this year’s selection of shorts. The Academy Awards take place Sunday, March 27.
Some films contain adult content and themes, with a PG-13 or R-equivalent rating.

Lead Me Home – Pedro Kos and Jon Shenk, USA, approx. 39 min.
The Queen of Basketball – Ben Proudfoot, USA, approx. 22 min.
Three Songs for Benazir – Elizabeth Mirzaei and Gulistan Mirzaei, Afghanistan, approx. 22 min.
When We Were Bullies – Jay Rosenblatt, USA/Germany, approx. 36 min.
Due to the longer run times of these films, there will be a brief pause during the screening.

All patrons are required to present one of the following to attend events at the Strand Theatre, Capitol Theatre and The Studio:
