MASTER GARDENER GARDEN TOUR SET FOR SUNDAY, JUNE 25
to
Penn State Extension of Cumberland County Allen Road, Carlisle, Pennsylvania 17013
Join Penn State Master Gardeners in Cumberland County to celebrate summer gardens on Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., when six of their home gardens will be open to visitors during “A Summer Celebration” Garden Tour.
Visit each of six uniquely beautiful private gardens in the Carlisle area, from Monroe to Dickinson Township, as well as the colorful Master Gardener demonstration gardens at the Cumberland County Service Center, located at 310 Allen Road in Carlisle.
Included along the tour route is a stop at historic Craighead House on East Old York Road, where special guests, the Pennsylvania Honey Queen and a falconry master, will delight and entertain you.
Penn State Master Gardeners will be at each garden to share their knowledge, expertise, and love of plants with visitors. Local craft and artisan vendors, artists demonstrating plein air painting, and musicians will add to your enjoyment; and educational displays and free gardening information make this tour a learning experience as well. Even better, local businesses have contributed a variety of door prizes, including gift certificates, plants, and garden-related items.
Advance purchase tour books are $10.00 each and include valuable coupon offers from local businesses. Tour books can be purchased in advance starting in early May until June 22, with cash or check, at the following locations: Penn State Extension offices in Dauphin and Perry counties; Agway-Carlisle Country Living; Ashcombe Farm & Greenhouses, Mechanicsburg; Bedford Street Antiques, Carlisle; Highland Gardens, Camp Hill; Leo’s Ice Cream, Carlisle; and Rosemary House, Mechanicsburg.
