On Nov.13th, at 3 pm, the LVC Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dr. Johannes Dietrich, will present a fall concert in the Blair Music Building. This performance will feature the winners of LVC’s annual Concert-Aria Competition. Violist Anthony Scheuerman will perform a concerto movement by Cecil Forsyth. Abigail Mosior will perform a movement from Carl Maria von Weber’s second clarinet concerto.
In keeping with LVC’s 150th celebration, the orchestra will perform the World Premiere of an LVC Symphony Orchestra Commission by Richard Pearson Thomas. “Blast” is a rousing, dramatic fanfare. In addition, there will be an East Coast premiere, “Growth,” from Journey of the Heart by Nancy Bloomer Deussen. The orchestra will also perform Symphony No. 2 in D Minor, written in 1866 by Richard Hol.
