HONK! the Musical
to
Linden Hall East Main Street, Lititz, Pennsylvania 17543
It’s okay to be different! That is the prevailing theme of this year’s Linden Hall musical, HONK! Written by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, HONK! has become one of the most produced musicals in high schools around the country. A re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Ugly Duckling,” this adaptation will see students in unique and colorful costumes when presented onstage April 17, 18 and 19.
Soon after the Ugly duckling is hatched, he begins an exciting journey of self- discovery: meeting wild geese, an admonishing bullfrog, house chickens and more. While the musical has a happy ending, it also tackles the difficulties encountered by parents when they allow their children to fly the nest – a poignant ending with so many of Linden Hall seniors portraying lead roles.
HONK! is co-directed by Mr. Jeffrey Porter, Mr. Paulino Contreras, and Mr. Dennis Foreman with choreography by Mr. Travis Love. Assisting are Ms. Jennifer Lobo and Mr. A.J. Walker.
