Central Penn College will show Network, the 1976 film that satirized the television-dominated media culture of the time, on Friday, Jan. 25, 6:30–9:00 p.m., in the Capital BlueCross Theatre.
The Oscar-winning movie stars Peter Finch, Faye Dunaway, William Holden and Robert Duvall. Professor Michael Lear-Olimpi will give a brief talk on the film’s significance prior to the screening.
“In this age of fake news, reality TV and 24/7 programming, Network is more relevant than ever,” says Lear-Olimpi.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Capital BlueCross Theatre is located on Central Penn College’s Summerdale campus, which is about five minutes from downtown Harrisburg.
