2017 Farm Adventure Day Camp Sponsored by Cumberland County 4-H and Penn State Extension
to
Brymesser's Dairy Farm Leidigh Road, Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania 17007
Take an adventure on two working farms to discover how your food gets from the farm to your plate. This two-day camp is filled with hands-on learning for youth to get a close up look at the work and science used every day in agriculture.
Youth ages 8-12 years old, as of June 21, 2017, should register today to attend this year’s camp. The camp is open to all youth – it is not a requirement to be a 4-H member.
Throughout the adventure campers will: tour a working dairy farm and watch cows in the milking parlor; whip up homemade butter; learn how much a cow eats and what they call dinner; listen to a calf’s heartbeat and measure its height; identify what insects are hiding in a farmer’s field; and create power from potatoes.
Registration
The cost is $45.00 per camper for both days, which includes two lunches, snacks, program materials, and a t-shirt.
To register, complete the attached form and return to Penn State Extension – Cumberland County with payment. Checks should be made payable to 4-H Development Fund.
