WELCOME TO CHILI CITY, PA
By proclamation of Mayor Ben Adams, Hanover will be officially re-named Chili City, PA on Sunday, September 1st from 11 am to 5 pm during the Hanover Chili Cook Off. These are the hours of The 18th Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off. Chili City, PA will be the official home of the International Chili Society (ICS) PA State Championship Cook Off and the Pennsylvania Keystone Cup Open Chili Championship. As in past years, the Hanover Chili Cook Off promises to be the most significant fund raising event for nonprofit organizations in the Hanover community. With the influx of Cooks and chili fans, Chili City, PA will rank 85th in Pennsylvania municipal population, with the heaviest Chili Cook density in America.
Expect over 10,000 citizens to inhabit Chili City, PA, sampling chili of all varieties from an expected 50 Chili Cooks and lots of family fun. Traditional Red Chili, Chili Verde and Salsa competitions will be judged by ICS (www.chilicookoff.com) standards to crown the Pennsylvania State ICS Champions. These winners earn an entry into the ICS World Championship Chili Cook Off to be held in Palm Springs, CA. Pennsylvania residents will cook to win the Keystone Cup Open Chili competition.
Watson the Magician, Randini the Remarkable Juggler, face painting and balloon art by Changing Faces 4 Fun will be in the field performing for young and old. Musical entertainment will start with the Winter House Band and Jah Works, headlined by an energy packed appearance by the Kelly Bell Band from Baltimore.
Food, ice cream, beverage and merchandise vendors will be in place, so bring an appetite for more than chili to add to your fun. Enter the jalapeno pepper eating competition if you dare!

No coolers, alcohol, tents or pets will be allowed on grounds. Valid photo ID will be required.
The Hanover Chili Cook Off is expected to create over $50,000 that will be donated to selected local charities that touch the lives of thousands of local residents each month. Welcome to Chili City, PA!
