12th Annual SMT Turkey Trot to Benefit Vickie's Angel Foundation

The 12th annual SMT Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving, Thursday November 24. The walk/race begins at 8 am and a half mile kids’ fun run starts at 9 am. Races begin and end at the New Cumberland Borough Park. Early registration for the 5K takes place now until November 17 and can be purchased online for $28. Participants can also register on packet pickup day, November 23, for $35 if spaces are still available. There will be no registration on the day of the event. The race features eight different age divisions. Prizes for the run include, the overall male and female winners receive a 15-18 lb. turkey. While the top three male and female finishers in each age group are awarded a dessert prize. Runners can also participate in the SMT Turkey Trot Tri – Run, Eat, Carry. Halfway during the race, “tri runners” stop and eat a personal-sized pumpkin pie and drink a glass of apple cider. They are then given a pumpkin to carry to the finish line. The Tri, costs an additional $8 and runners must register by November 17.
