Kathleen works in corporate nursing home management and was responsible for the IT communication for Covid-19 for the 93 nursing home facilities her employer managed. After giving birth to a newborn, Kathleen returned to work after only two weeks and worked around the clock to ensure communication reached families online and assisted her legal and corporate clinical operation's team in monitoring that all staff were following medical protocol. In addition to being a healthcare hero, she also manages a York City area chapter for Gals That Brunch. She continues to inspire women, build community for those who are without one, and promote small businesses in the area.
Who has been your biggest influence?
Women without a community and support system. They continue to inspire me to find innovated and creative ways to attract them to the York Gals That Brunch community.
What motivated you to be involved in your community?
Being without a support system of sisterhood for such a long time in my life, I always felt like the lone wolf searching for her pack. That desire for a sisterhood connection motivated me to start seeking out others who may also be hungry to be apart of a community.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don't be reckless, but take smart risks. Some of the best decisions I've made have also been the scariest moments of questioning. I wouldn't have the blessings I have today if I didn't make those once frightening choices.
What’s your idea of self care?
Going hiking, exploring, or on a picture-taking adventure into the community. Something about getting away from my daily grind and experiencing something different brings my life balance.
What message do you have for the future generations of women?
Value yourself and surround yourself with people who see your value by encouraging you to reach your highest potential.
