Who has been your biggest influence?
My dad and I have always been very close and because of that bond I have a motivation to continue to do well and make him proud. I greatly value the advice he has given me over the years. I am influenced by my husband and my kids as I continue to work hard to support our family. I am also influenced by my peers who motivate, drive and encourage me when I need it most.
What motivated you to be involved in your community?
I didn’t think about it much until my daughter was born. That changed my outlook on everything but specifically on making Central PA a better place to live and work for her and more importantly for other kids that aren’t as fortunate as she has been. Giving back makes you feel good and it’s contagious!
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t focus so much on checking off boxes and moving through life – enjoy the journey and the destination.
What’s your idea of self care?
Taking my 4-year-old yellow lab, Charlie on a walk every night with my husband. Spending time outside with family and friends just relaxing. Taking quick trips to the beach to recharge.
What message do you have for the future generations of women?
Have grit – don’t give up and keep pushing through. Challenge yourself out of your comfort zone and speak up for what you believe in.
