Gone are the days of the plain white wire arch with maybe a floral arrangement or two. These past few wedding seasons have proven that wedding arches are making a major comeback. So whether you’re a classic romantic or looking for a funky modern twist, we’ve asked the experts how to achieve the arch look of your dreams.

Classicly Romantic
Experience a Midsummer Night's Dream with an arch that exemplifies romance and garden-esque charm. Cascading flowers are the key players in a romantic arch. Florist Laura Kohr of Laura of Lauxmont says to achieve this look, you have to “create a river of flowers that catch the eye at different lengths.” This trick draws the eye in one fluid motion. Another pro-tip is to cool it with contrasting colors. Laura says, “ [For example] if your main colors are burgundy and white, bridge it with blush or mauve for a softer transition.”
HOW TO GET THE LOOK
• Be strategic with linens. Drapery can completely change the look of an arch, and the flow of the fabric helps add a soft detail.
• Use greenery like seeded eucalyptus and nagi for that garden-like feel.

Modern Minimalist
As the popularity in micro-weddings grows, so does simple yet impactful arch design. Achieve the look by “creating an asymmetrical layout that incorporates a spray of flowers in one of the top corners of the arch and complementing it with a simpler bunch on the opposite upright post,” says Colton Weyant-Staver of The JDK Group. But having a minimalist arch doesn’t mean you can’t add a bit of drama! Colton recommends using textural greenery and larger focal blooms like curly willows or birch twigs as a way to draw attention without overwhelming the overall arch.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK
• A simple rod arch is the perfect way to include metallic touches that will catch the eye.
• Proportions! Keep in mind that balance in floral placement is especially important in a minimalist design.

The Wild Card
Your wedding is the perfect opportunity to go big! This pampas grass circular arch is what arch dreams are made of, proving that sometimes–more can be more. A unique design in its own rite, creator Kristiana of Wild Indigo Floral Design says the inspiration came from the bride wanting something different to serve as a focal point for her wedding day. By having the arbor be all pampas grass–it created a statement while still having a soft natural look.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK
• Pampas grass goes beautifully with neutral toned palettes and adds texture without being overwhelming.
• A circular arch instantly gives a “wow” factor as they’re not as common.

Bohemian Blooms
Let your free spirit shine through with a Boho-inspired arch. Bride, Jordan Harper, says she was inspired by desert oases–a concept that blended her husband’s love for the beach and her fondness of the West. Tara Folker of Splints and Daisies even mentions that you don’t just have to stick to flowers–succulents and cacti can add that extra ‘something’ to a boho-inspired arch. The blend between tropical foliage and desert blooms blossomed into a one-of-a-kind arch.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK
• Add a tapestry or woven detail to your arch for an instant boho look.
• Details matter! Think about including decorative pieces like a bull skull, lace, or even an area rug that complements the color scheme.
