Alyssa and Jaime’s wedding day was all about them to say the least. From the floral arrangements being from Alyssa’s go-to spot to incorporating their bunnies into cookie form to even having an ice sculpture replica of the boat Jaime proposed on. Their wedding day was a true representation of who they are as a couple.
But enough from us, let Jaime and Alyssa tell you all about their special day.
THEIR LOVE STORY
Jamie and I met when we worked together at Bobby Rahal Lexus in 2012 and didn't speak to each other. Then, in late 2013, I was in culinary school in Philly and I was working with blood oranges and posted a picture on Facebook. He commented and asked me if it was a blood orange and that's the beginning of our story. Haha From there we started talking back and forth daily and when I graduated in July 2014, I moved back to Mechanicsburg and we started officially dating. We were up at my parents boat at Raystown on July 4th and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward 5 years later, July 4th 2019, we were up at my parents boat in Raystown again and he asked me to marry him! My parents even got us a boat ice sculpture for the wedding!

THEIR INSPIRATION
The inspiration was the wild flowers from Paulus Farm Market. I go there every summer and do their U Pick flowers and it's so beautiful. We didn't have a bridal party or groomsmen, and no actual wedding colors, so the flowers were the focus! Simple and beautiful!

THEIR FAVORITE PART
My favorite part was finally marrying my best friend, but a close second was our amazing baker. Her cupcakes, cake, and cookies were phenomenal and I rave about her and her work every chance I get. The bunny cookies were the biggest hit! Jamie and I have two bunnies (had three but one passed away two weeks before our wedding and it was devastating to us) and Kyrsten designed bunny cookies for our two buns, and made a special cookie just for Jamie and I to honor our bunny who just passed. The bunnies had flower crowns to tie everything together!
THEIR ADVICE
My advice for couples getting married--research your vendors and make sure their services, personality, etc. align with your wedding plan. Having amazing vendors who we developed meaningful, lasting relationships with, made our day so much better. Also, make the day yours, it is your wedding and it should be everything you want. Be vocal about what you want and be kind in the way you voice it. Oh, and in the year of COVID, take it day by day. You cannot control what is happening in the world. Take a breath and enjoy the love you have and get to share with your spouse for eternity!
