Megan and Mark’s big day was the first wedding at the brand new Historic Ashland in Wrightsville. Both of them have a creative eye, but they wanted a simple wedding that showed who they truly are. Mark and Megan met through a mutual friend. Mark proposed while watching the sunrise atop a lifeguard chair in Stone Harbor, NJ, their favorite vacation spot. Instead of a specific theme, Megan and Mark wanted to compliment the neutral white and gray color scheme of the venue with simple decorations and natural-colored flowers. The bridesmaids wore different styles of dresses in shades of blush, taupes, and grays. Megan wore her mother’s wedding dress from 1981, modernized by a seamstress. She also wore a pearl necklace given to her by her grandmother when she was young, and each year she added another pearl. Megan and Mark had their own individual white cake with raspberry mousse and buttercream icing. Aside from having everyone they love in one room together, their favorite part about the day was when Megan’s mom and three aunts surprised them with a choreographed dance routine. They took their honeymoon to Italy in October where they visited Sorrento, Rome, Florence, and Venice.
