I love my home office because my 1950s desk, which was my grandpa's, looks out onto our backyard, which is especially peaceful during warmer months with the birds chirping and breeze blowing through. My husband and I created the lattice design on one accent wall using tape and paint, and he helped me make custom cornice valances in one of my favorite patterns, timeless toile. The chair is an Emeco "Navy Chair" made from recycled aluminum, right in Hanover, PA—a mid century design icon (read more here). The space (which doubles as a craft room lined with shelves of ribbon and wrapping as well as vases and jars for decorating and entertaining) is my signature style combination of classic and modern—an English garden feel in contemporary colors and furnishings.

My favorite part of my office is my desk. The wood top was meticulously made by my boyfriend and the hair pin legs I ordered online. I love how open the entire desk feels. To spark creativity, I created an inspiration wall directly behind the desk. I pull images from magazines that have a certain feel or color palette that I like. I switch them around every few months to keep it fresh. On my desk, I keep cute notebooks to jot down information as well as a few items that I spray painted gold.
