As fun and exciting fashion trends may be, they can also be hard to pull off, or even uncomfortable to wear. Think about this summer’s off the shoulder trend, as cute as it is the style of the garment gives you limited mobility for your arms and leaves you with no option but the dreaded strapless bra. Or the recent trend of jean miniskirts, as fun as they are, it may be hard to shake the nostalgia of middle school dances, along with the fear that you might look like a tween wannabe. So I found five fall trends that won’t sacrifice comfort, functionality or ease of wear for the sake of looking fashionable.
1. Red
Red has been crowned as the color of fall 2017. It can be incorporated into an outfit in many different ways. Whether you want to stand out with a head to toe red pantsuit, or use it as an accent color with a red pair of shoes or handbag, or even just wear red lips, red is an easy color to throw on. Plus, it’s probably a color most already have somewhere in their closets.

2. Wide Belts
Previously popular in the early 2000’s, wide belts are making a comeback. They are easy to wear with either a dress or pants and top. They can transform the silhouette of your outfit by accentuating your waist. They can transform a loose, baggy dress or tops into a more fitted look.

3. Mid Length Skirts
The mid-length skirt is a great because you don’t have to worry about it being too short and constantly pulling it down, and also don’t have to worry about it being too long and accidentally stepping on it as you walk. It is a graceful, flirty, yet modest style that can be paired with flats, heels or even sneakers. The mid-length skirt is so versatile and certainly functional no matter what look you’re pairing it with.

4. Head To Toe Denim
This is a really easy look to throw on, whether it’s a pair of flare jeans paired with a jean jacket, or a denim shirt paired with a pair of skinny jeans, any combination is easy to pull off for a casual yet trendy look. And with the right pair of stretch denim you can be comfortable all day too!

5. Couch Florals
Yes, you read that right. Florals are in fashion both in clothing and home furnishings—but a much more updated look than your grandma’s old couch covered in precious blooms. As we move into this fall and winter, remember, you don’t have to switch over to drab, dark colors. Brighten up your wardrobe with some pretty floral patterns on your sweaters, dresses or even jackets.
