After visiting Ireland and England, I was inspired to dress more European. I noticed that their style was elegant, classy, and upscale, but not in a snobbish way, but more of a minimalist approach to their outfits.
Here are tips on how you can incorporate European fashion into your life, and also what styles to avoid:

#1 COLORS AND CUTS
1. Choose clean and simple cuts and lines. From suits to dresses, the cut should have a sleek and geometric look. Find pieces that have elegant clean lines with a simple shape.
2. Wear clothes that fit. Europeans wear clothes that fit to their body. Invest in a good tailor to have your clothes altered.
3. Wear texture and classic patterns. Go for textures in lace, knit, leather, and classic prints like stripes, leopard, polka dots, and plaid.
4. Understand the European color palette. Europeans tend to prefer neutral tones and monochromatic outfits.
#2 STYLING YOUR OUTFIT
1. Harmonize your outfit. A simple tip to not looking disheveled is putting some honest effort into your look.
2. Keep it simple. When in doubt, keep it simple. Stick to the clean lines, neutral colors, and classic patterns.
3. Wear dark colored jeans. Dark washes have a dressier appearance.
4. Dress up a little more than usual. It never hurts to go slightly nicer. As the saying goes, “It’s better to be over-dressed than under-dressed.”
5. Wear a scarf. A scarf in a solid color or classic pattern is the ultimate European fashion touch.
6. Go for subtle, classy accessories. Choose dainty, low profile accessories, or one statement piece that will complement your outfit. Elegant sunglasses are a must too.

#3 WHAT TO AVIOD
1. Logos and slogans. Avoid the logo and slogan style all together…unless you are going to a sporting event.
2. The oversized t-shirt. Steer clear of the baggy 10+ year-old t-shirt you’ve had since high school. Europeans do wear t-shirts, but they wear more fitted, dressy fabric types of shirts.
3. Clothes with rips or holes. Rips and holes can be seen as low fashion.
4. Pajama pants. It is highly unlikely that you will find a European wearing their pajamas outside of their home, especially at the grocery store.
