Six years ago we found our dream home. The cosmetics of the house we could change, but we felt the house had great "bones." Our kitchen was the first project we tackled. We transitioned a dark country kitchen to one with a sleek, contemporary feel. The space is monochromatic and the fun details pop, which we love. We had input from David Lyall of Buck Home on colors palettes and how to stretch our small budget. His ideas proved to be perfect for us. Our kitchen is the heart of our home.
After our kitchen was complete, we sought out David's help again. David worked his magic, conceptualizing an amazing design plan for our family room that allowed our spaces to flow. We stared at those plans for 2 years, saving and penny pinching for our dream space. We are happy to say we are in the process of redesigning our family room. Thanks to David's eye for design and understanding of how our family uses the space, we are on our way!
The process has included knocking out part of a wall to make the family room and kitchen space more interactive. We enjoy working on our home so my husband tackled as much work as he could handle: demolition, drywall, painting, replacing all the trim and baseboard and even a new set of French doors. We hired a professional to install wallpaper that adds texture and warmth to our new space. Note: If you do not feel comfortable, hire a professional!
We are anxiously awaiting our new carpet, window treatments, furniture and artwork. The entire process with the team at Buck Home has been great. I cannot express how excited we are to see our new space come together. Stay tuned for more tidbits and the final reveal! See the results of our family room remodeling project!
