We have been cooped up in our houses for nine months now, and I don’t know about you but I am ready for something new.
We are tired of looking at the same piles of clutter.
We want to feel peace and comfort in our homes.
We want to feel inspired and motivated.
We are worthy of a space that serves us.
Whether the shut down forced you to slow down or gave you permission to, we’ve all been given a chance to reevaluate what’s really important.
Uncovering more space in our lives is an internal and external practice.
If you need to start with your physical space so you feel less stressed internally, make a practice of emptying out one drawer or cabinet or closet a day. Evaluate what you’re holding onto. Create space for what matters and let go of the things that are no longer serving you.
If you need to start internally, consider some affirmations with your morning coffee, or a weekly chat with a respected friend.
Whichever place you start will affect the other. Becoming more aware of how we feel in our space and acknowledging what isn’t working for us frees us up to change and grow. Small steps increase our knowledge of our worth and have a ripple effect on the people we live with.
What is one forward movement you can take in this new year?
