Do you have a closet full of clothes that you never wear?
To help minimize over-spending, impulse purchases and buyer’s remorse, here are 8 smart shopping questions to ask yourself before making a purchase…
1. Do I LOVE this piece?
If you don’t love it, don’t buy it. If you have to talk yourself into an item, than it wasn’t meant to be.

2. Am I getting this because it’s on SALE?
It’s not a great deal if you’ll never wear it. Put it back.

3. Where am I going in this?
Every item needs to have a purpose. If you can’t think of a place to wear it, then it doesn’t make sense for you to buy it.

4. What will the “cost per wear” of this item be?
Each season brings new tempting-to-wear trends. Investing in classic pieces that can be worn season after season makes the “cost per wear” of the piece go down. Invest in a classic pair of black pumps or a fitted black blazer.

5. Do I own items to wear with it?
Quick! If you can’t think of three items to wear with it then put it back.

6. Am I filling a wardrobe gap?
Don’t own a trench? Go ahead and buy it. Have three? Walk away.

7. Do I have to rationalize this purchase?
Telling yourself you won’t eat out for the next month or two is just plain insane.
8. Do I REALLY need this?
Treating ourselves is uplifting, but retail therapy can lead to bad decisions.
