How does the Best of the Susquehanna Valley survey work?
Throughout the year, our team tries to keep up with what’s new, in style, delicious, making waves, and making a big impression in the Susquehanna Valley. We take all of your calls, letters, emails and DM’s with suggestions and input and craft a comprehensive (to the best of our ability—nobody is perfect!) list of businesses in their respective category for our readers (you!) to vote on. You’ll see top contenders for each category, plus have the option to write in anyone we left off the list. (We promise we do our best to be thorough but there are so many amazing businesses popping up left and right!) Voting is open from February 1-28. We’ll compile your votes and publish the winners in the June, July, and August editions of Susquehanna Style!
What if my business is not one of the businesses listed as a voting option?
We know no one likes to take a super long survey, so we tried our best to condense our list of answer prompts, but everyone is welcome to vote for any business they like by using our write-in answer option for each and every question--anyone can win!
Only advertisers win, right?
Absolutely not! Quite frankly, many don’t (we’re sorry!). We value the integrity of our Best of the Susquehanna Valley survey and the validity of the winning businesses. Winning status can’t and never will be able to be purchased. You can only earn your spot by promoting your business and getting those votes!
It seems like the categories are a little different than past years, why the change?
As with any program we run, we are constantly looking for ways to update and improve. Year after year we continue to update the categories based on engagement in responses and popularity of categories. If we received too low a number of responses in certain categories in past years, we did eliminate or condense them with another category in an effort to be as statistically accurate as possible.
Over the past few years, we have also received a lot of feedback about confusion between our Best Of campaign and our Who’s Who program—both of which are voter style programs. In an effort to eliminate that confusion, we are foregoing our Who's Who program for 2021 and have added many of those categories the Best Of survey.
Ok, so how do I get people to vote for my business?
Lucky for you, we created a marketing toolkit of branded images for you to promote your business and gather votes from clients, customers, friends, and followers. You can share these images on your social media accounts, email marketing promotions, or print them out and hang them in your business.
I have more questions, who can I reach out to?
