Floral patterns and summer just naturally go together. This trend is not anything new and we started seeing it this spring. But, it’s still going strong. The patterns range from muted to big and bold and are appearing on everything from shoes to shorts and of course, dresses.
The patterns this year are not just for weddings. You can wear these to the office, out for drinks and on the weekends. If you’re not comfortable sporting a head-to-toe look, choose one main piece and keep the rest of the outfit simple so it’s not overwhelming. For example you could take this high-low tunic and pair it with a simple mini skirt or leggings.
This dress with a great cut-out back fits as easily into a cocktail party as it does into the office. For the office, I would pair it with a cute cropped white sweater and low booties. A sharp white pair of pointed toe boots would look amazing (but opt for black if the white is too bold for you). Take the sweater off and you’re ready to meet friends for drinks. Toss on a pair of black flats and an oversized tote and it’s weekend-ready.
These tops would also be a perfect way to add florals to your summer wardrobe without committing to a dress. Either of these would look great with jeans (especially a distressed pair). The button-up blouse would be beautiful with white jeans or a denim skirt for a night out or a casual day at the office. I would pair it with black, cropped jeans or pants and heels for meetings. This orange sleeveless top would be great at a summer picnic with shorts.
Adding a pale shimmer of sequins along with the flowers is a nice way to combine two of this year’s trends without being too over the top. This dress would be perfect for a summer wedding. But, don’t count it out of the office! Pair it with beautiful heels and a smart blazer and it’s ready to go.
If you just can’t commit to a floral outfit, you could ease into this trend with some bolder jewelry pieces. These two options can be dressed up or down and will add some flowers into your life!
