Where are you from?
Originally, western PA. Most recently, southern Maryland. I’ve lived in York for about two and a half years now.
How did you get into bartending?
I remembering landing my first serving job, seeing the different dynamics of bartending and thinking, that’s where I need to be. It’s all fascinating: the creativity, the relationships you build with patrons, the different things you get to experience and all the things you learn. Bartending has definitely opened quite a few doors for me.
Ever serve anyone famous?
A couple of years ago when I was bartending in Maryland, the band Bad Company came into the restaurant the night before their show and referred to me as the “hot blonde bartender.” I’ll never forget that. I’ve also served Craig Sheffer [a York actor known for roles in “A River Runs Through It” and the show “One Tree Hill”] quite a few times here at Victor’s.
Your go-to cocktail?
Hands down, an old fashioned, made with a nice whiskey or bourbon.
What’s one of your signatures?
I actually get a lot of compliments on my ability to make a good, authentic old fashioned. Go figure.
Trends or classics?
Classics for sure. Take me back to the Prohibition era with all the sidecars and Ward Eights you could illegally obtain!
Beer or wine? What’s one of your faves?
Definitely beer. I can’t say that I actually have one specific favorite, but as far as style of beer, I mostly enjoy a good IPA or anything bourbon-barrel aged.
Favorite spirit to work with?
Dark would be whiskey. Light would be tequila.
What do you do in your free time?
I actually have a 2-year-old son, so I’m not one for much free time. Between him and school I stay pretty busy.
What bar do you belly up to when you’re not working?
On occasion, friends and I will venture out after work to Collusion Tap Works. I haven’t had a single beer of theirs that I haven’t liked.
Must-visit places for someone visiting the White Rose City before or after a trip to Victor's?
Again, Collusion. Something for everyone there.
Dog or cat?
Both. I have two cats now, only because I can’t have a dog where I’m at. But I totally am a dog person too. I love animals in general.
What are you currently listening to and loving?
I love ALL genres, but Eric Church is one of my all time favorite artists.
What’s in your Netflix cue?
Mostly anything animated, because of my son. I’m pretty sure I've seen the movie “Trolls” about 100 times.
