Samuel Adler is the composer of more than 400 published works, including five operas, six symphonies, 12 concerti, nine string quartets, five oratorios and many other orchestral, band, chamber and choral works and songs, which have been performed all over the world. Since 1997 he has been a member of the composition faculty at the Juilliard School and has given master classes and workshops at more than 300 universities worldwide. He was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2001.
