MSC presents Pianist Mark Markham
to
Whitaker Center Sunoco Performance Theater Market Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17101
Don’t miss a program of exciting, poetic and colorful piano music from the Romantic era brought to life by a pianist at the height of his powers! Mark Markham, a recital partner of the legendary soprano Jessye Norman for two decades, will perform music of Debussy, Rachmaninoff and Scriabin, as well as Liszt’s Sonata in B Minor, considered by many as one of the most challenging works in the entire piano repertoire. The Baltimore Sun recently hailed his performance of this work as “…profoundly musical return to the grand manner in which Liszt’s B minor Sonata used to be played.”
Tickets are $35, $30 for seniors (65+), $5 for college students with valid ID, free for K-12 students and $10 for one accompanying adult. For tickets, visit https://markmarkham.eventbrite.com or http://www.marketsquareconcerts.org/concerts . Remaining tickets will be available at the door.
This performance is part of a residency which includes solo appearances on March 17 & 18 with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra at the forum as well as a voice masterclass on March 19 at 5 p.m. There will also be a piano masterclass on March 20 at 4 p.m. at Messiah College High Center, High Foundation Recital Hall.
