May Migration Marvels
to
Lancaster County Central Park Pavilion #22 1101 Kiwanis Drive
By early May many migratory birds are on the move, rushing to set up breeding territories. Join Naturalist Emily Broich to marvel about our spring migrants who have just begun to arrive, often overnight. We will work on birding by ear through songs and calls we may hear. Migration can be variable based on weather patterns, but we will listen for the beautiful song of the Wood Thrush and hope to see a red flash of the Scarlet Tanager. We’ll take time to appreciate our resident birds as well. A limited number of binoculars are available upon request. Meet near Pavilion #22 in the Kiwanis Area for a ½ - mile walk. Register online or call (717) 295-2055 to register and prepay by noon on Wednesday, May 2. $2.00 per person. Ages 10 and up.
