Market Square Concerts presents Ensemble Epomeo

On Sunday, February 28, at 3 pm at Temple Ohev Sholom, Ensemble Epomeo will perform Selections from “Signs, Games and Messages” by one of the greatest living composers, György Kurtág, String Trio, Op. 6 by a Hungarian Romantic, Leo Weiner, as well as Beethoven’s festive and uplifting String Trio, Op. 3. Nicholas Hughes will join Ensemble Epomeo as a narrator in “Signs, Games and Messages.” There will be a Young Artist Performance of a Prélude from the Bach’s Cello Suite No. 3 by cellist Eliana Yang at the opening of the concert.

Founded in 2008 at the Ischia Chamber Music Festival (Italy), string trio Ensemble Epomeo (Diane Pascal – violin; David Yang – viola; Kenneth Woods – cello) is fast rising to the upper echelon of international chamber groups. Inaugural tours saw them performing in Italy, the UK and the USA, with broadcasts on New England Public Radio and WKCR Columbia University in New York where they were the subject of a three hour special showcase concert.
