Folk singer – songwriter Jackson Howard playing at Emmaus Road Cafe
to
Jackson Howard’s neo-folk weaves Paul Simon’s lyrics over Tommy Emmanuel’s fingerpicking. Jackson has toured the US, Canada, Iceland, Germany, Belgium and Netherlands, sharing bills with Nicholas David and Moushimi (The Voice), and Nick Jameson of Foghat among others. His latest release, Just for the Mystery, recorded at Dark Horse Studios, has been played on over 100 radio stations in the US and Europe and has been licensed by MTV, E!, Discovery, and Netflix among other TV networks for use in their programming.
Having earned a PhD and worked in research prior to his music career, many of Jackson’s songs deal with change and our eternal search for self. After juggling a job at Washington University in St. Louis with an ever growing performance schedule, Howard ultimately left academia in 2015 to focus his energies on his music full time. Introspective yet generalizable, his lyrics touch regret, hope, self-deception, and love – both vacuous and real.
