The Office of Experiential Learning and Career Management will host Career Week from October 15-19, 2012. Career Week includes four days of activities and workshops to help students focus on the future, explore career options and discover job opportunities in their field(s) of study.
Schedule of Events:
Monday, October 15
Freshman: Focus on your Future - Figure out where your interests and strengths in room 118 in the Student Memorial Center at 3 p.m.
Dining in Professional Style - Learn interesting etiquette tips for how to succeed when at a formal dinner. All attendees also get to enjoy a delicious dinner (registration recommended) in Lehr, Gordonier at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, October 16
Lunch Speaker: Social Media with Daron Presley - Do you know how Facebook and Twitter accounts can hurt or help your career? Do you have a LinkedIn account? Learn about using social media to succeed with your job in room 24 in the Student Memorial Center at 12 p.m.
Fashion Show - When you go to interviews, do you dress for success or are you a better example of what not to wear? Join us for a fun-filled evening watching student models demonstrate both professional and non-professional dress in the multipurpose room in the Student Memorial Center at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 17
Lunch Speaker: Resumes with Jim Clontz - Bring your resume with you and have an expert resume writer help you edit it in room 118 in the Student Memorial Center at 12 p.m.
Career Panels: Attend different panels to discover how to obtain a federal or state job, enhance your resume, or get the low-down on financial IQ in McComsey Hall at 5 - 6 p.m. and 6:15 - 7:15 p.m.
Thursday, October 18
Get Connected: Job and Internship Fair - Bring your resume and meet Pennsylvania employers for the opportunity to find the job or internship of your dreams (registration requested) in the multipurpose room in the Student Memorial Center at 11 - 2 p.m.
Guest Speaker: Andrew Slack of the Harry Potter Alliance - Do you harbor a passion for magic and wizards? Discover one way someone found to turn their love for a favorite book series into a successful career in the multipurpose room in the Student Memorial Center at 6 p.m.
Price: This event is free and open to the public.
