On August 18, as Usain Bolt made Olympic history when he won his eighth gold medal, Susquehanna Style’s readers and the Best of York blue ribbon winners joined together for an Olympic-themed party that was awarded gold for FUN! Partygoers arrived at the Best of York Party at PeoplesBank Park wearing their favorite red, white and blue attire ready to cheer on Olympic athletes and cheers to the York community.
Champagne is the first component to any great bash, and thanks to our Cocktail Sponsor: CGA Law Firm, bubbly was the first stop. Up the elevator, the party was brought by live entertainment from York’s Best DJ: Klock Entertainment and Best Band: The AKT.
Nobody left this party hungry! Guests sampled the best tastes in the region thanks to blue ribbon winners including Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar, Baron Von Schwein, Gingerbabies Catering, Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches, Just Cupcakes, Naylor Wine Cellars, Providence Divine Cakes & Pastries, Victor’s Italian Restaurant and Viet Thai Market Street Cafe. Ate too much food and need a caffeine reboot? Coffee with a splash of guests’ fave liquor was provided by the presenting sponsor Smith, Mayer & Liddle: a Wealth Advisory Group at Janney.
And, what Olympic themed party would be complete without games? Giant jenga, oversized pong and yard games had party guests feeling like champions. Speaking of champions, three guests won fun prizes including the party voted Most Spirited and the #BestOfYork contest winner which was made extra entertaining because of 1st Capital Harley Davidson’s photo booth. One person even walked away with a Best of York grand prize raffle worth over $1,000 that benefitted the Special Olympics of York.
