My husband will be the first to tell you that I can overdress for sporting events. No, I am not the girl that is at a football game wearing heels and carrying a clutch around, but to him, I am overdressed. I can't just toss on a jersey (mainly because I don't own one) and head out the door. You can still look cute and stylish, even when you are tailgating.
For me, some tailgating fashion basics are:
1. Puffer vest
2. Converse or similar sneakers (Flat booties would work too!)
3. Boyfriend or straight leg jeans/jeggings (cuffed)
4. Hat (fedora, baseball cap, beanie)
The beauty of these basics is that you can dress them up as much as you want, or dress them down as much as you like. They are all also great for both indoor and outdoor sporting events: tailgating in a parking lot before a big game, Saturday morning flag football games for your child or Sunday football parties at a friend's house!
Here are a few options of my favorite tailgating pieces that I mention above, and a couple of looks I created with them that can be both for indoor and outdoor events!
Go grab your stylish and comfy clothes, and happy tailgating!
