Summer is the season for traveling, and as much as I love planning trips and grand adventures, packing and unpacking is my least favorite part of the “journey."
Here are a few tips and tricks for taking the pain out of packing and unpacking—and keeping organized along the way.
1. Pack three tops for every bottom. Neutrals are a good foundation to build your travel wardrobe on!
2. Pack your lightest shoes and wear your heaviest ones.
3. Use balloons or plastic wrap on the top of your bottles to keep them from leaking.
4. Pack a canvas tote to collect your dirty laundry so that all you have to do when you get home is throw it in the washer!
5. Put cotton rounds on top of your compacts to keep powder/blush from breaking.
6. Take a picture of your luggage before traveling. It will help to locate your luggage if it is lost. Better safe than sorry, right?
7. Pack baby wipes. You can use them for quick clean ups and wipe downs on the airplane or if you run into any lack-of-toilet-paper situations.
8. Skimp on pajamas and gym clothes! Let's face it you're not getting very dirty laying in bed and how many times are you going to really workout? For gym clothes, limit yourself to two outfits and bring a small bottle of detergent so you can hand wash them if you end up working out more than you planned.
9. Use a shower cap to cover the bottoms of your shoes to keep dirt and sand off the other items you've packed.
10. Make a list! A list helps you to keep your packing on track so that you end up at your destination with everything you need!
